High Maintenance Bloggin': The Woes of Apple Pie

Why is it so hard keeping up with the blogging thing? Ya know I felt so overwhelmed trying to follow other blogs/getting new followers that I lost interest in doing it what I started it for.

Writing whatever came to mind, no effs given what others may think. I mean, I appreciate all the feedback to those who do keep up, but I need to do it for me. Me. Me. Me. ME. me.
In reference to Joan Didion,
"Why I Write. There you have three short unambiguous words that share a sound, and the sound they share is this:
In many ways writing is the act of saying I, of imposing oneself upon other
people, of saying listen to me, see it my way, change your mind. It’s an aggressive, even a hostile act."

Let me impose myself upon you and unburden these thoughts yet written.
I hate Apple Pie. Not really apple pie, but something along the lines of  being defined as "paid position of regular employment." *cough cough* I don't want to diss Apple Pie outright so I reworded it with something I actually love. Mmmm Apple Pie....Aren't you craving some now? ;D

So yes. Apple Pie can suck it. Made with rotten apples, no amount of sugar you keep adding to it can save the damn pie. The once perfect, flaky crust is no longer chilled, and as you overwork the darn thing and try to reshape it, the pie crust begins to crack and crumble. The poor pie crust which once held it altogether has decided it wants to be more than some damn crust. It wants to become a cake. And not just any cake. It wants to become some "Is It Really Better Than Sex? Cake", made by yours truly Paula Deen. I mean who doesn't want to be a cake with a name like that? I'm pretty sure it's just a fancy name for Yellow Cake, but it still beats being a crumbling crust, right?

While the Apple Pie hasn't been dandy in my life, everything else has been. For the most part at least. I really think I've matured quite a bit (coming from the girl comparing "work" to Apple Pie). I've grown up in so many ways but I'm still me. I'm still trying to figure out what I want but I'm not struggling to do so. Whatever happens, happens. So it goes.

Oh what else is going on. All I ever do is Apple Pie and read.

Some books I'm reading at the moment... Wool Omnibus by Hugh Howey & American Gods by Neil Gaiman. Once I finish those two I shall pick up Rant by Chuck Palahniuk and the upcoming, Dead Ever After by Charlaine Harris (The final installment in The Sookie Stackhouse Series!)

So much reading to do this summer, so little time! And I need to make time for blogging. Gah I'll do an actual beauty post soon. When it strikes my fancy...

P.S. Who is excited for The Great Gatsby? This girl is!
